Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge was built by Emperor Charles IV, 1357th. The construction was led by Peter Parler. Charles Bridge completed a year 1402. Is 515 m long and has 16 arches of bridges. The sculptural decoration was created by 31 sculptures in the years 1657-1938.
One of the more interesting is that of St.John of Nepomuk, who was martyred by being thrown off the bridge into the River Vltava in the reign of Wenceslas IV. The bridge is guarded at either end by two impressive Gothic towers, both of which can be visited and offer excellent views from the top. Charles Bridge is best known tourist sight.
